Waterloo man charged with DWI, AUO after accident in Varick

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Thursday around 12:30 a.m. deputies arrested a 24-year-old Waterloo man — charging him with driving while intoxicated. Deputies say Alejandro S. Aguilera, 24, of Waterloo was charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 percent, and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Waterloo Police Department Sgt. Lee Marquart said Diana Fegley “became very angry with me” after he accused her of setting the fire she was rescued from in February 2017. Waterloo woman found guilty of arson

Following an hour of deliberation Friday afternoon, a Seneca County jury convicted a Waterloo woman of setting her Inslee Street home on fire in February 2017. Diana Fegley was found guilty of third-degree arson during a trial in county court. Judge Dennis Bender scheduled sentencing for June 4. Seneca Falls woman charged with stealing from Tops

A 65-year-old Seneca Falls resident was charged with petit larceny after stealing merchandise from Tops Supermarket. Joanne Stankoski, 65, was charged with petit larceny after stealing $46.26 worth of merchandise from Tops in Waterloo. The charges will be answered at a later date. more

Fisher names Folk as second assistant attorney in Seneca County

Christopher Folk of Waterloo has been appointed second assistant county attorney in Seneca County. His appointment was announced Friday by County Attorney Frank Fisher. The position has been vacant since 2003. Fisher recently received approval from the Board of Supervisors to fill the position. Man accused of raping outlet mall co-worker pleads guilty to lower-level felony

The Trumansburg man accused of raping an underage co-worker last year pleaded guilty to a low-level felony Monday in Seneca County Court. A more serious rape charge was dismissed.
