Waterloo man charged with DWI, AUO after accident in Varick

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Thursday around 12:30 a.m. deputies arrested a 24-year-old Waterloo man — charging him with driving while intoxicated.

Deputies say Alejandro S. Aguilera, 24, of Waterloo was charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 percent, and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

The arrest stems from an investigation into a one-car property damage accident that happened on State Route 336 in Varick.

Deputies say Aguilera was traveling east when he left the shoulder of the roadway coming to rest in a ditch. The vehicle suffered minimal damage and was towed from the scene.

He was released on appearance tickets and will answer the charges at a later date.
