Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts reports that one deputy was fired on Tuesday after an internal investigation. Now that former deputy is facing two charges. Wayne County Judge Daniel Barrett has sentenced a local man to prison on drug charges. Robert Lee Bell, 51, of Lawrence Street, was sentenced Thursday to five years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and one count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (class B felonies). A former local resident was arrested in Alabama following an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the Lowndes County (Ala.) Sheriff’s Office. Allen E. A Lyons man who admitted dealing drugs in Seneca County will head to prison later this year. Patrick Snider, 42, pleaded guilty last week in county court to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony.
