Wooden Tugboat from Vermont Seen on Erie Canal

The 33 foot, 1964 wooden working tugboat, the C. L. Churchill, passed thru Lyons on the Erie Canal early Saturday morning. Owned and operated by the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, the tugboat last visited the Finger Lakes Region in 2013 accompanying the Lois McClure, an 1862 full-sized replica of a canal schooner freighter. Wayne County Judge Daniel Barrett has sentenced a local man to prison on drug charges. Robert Lee Bell, 51, of Lawrence Street, was sentenced Thursday to five years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and one count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (class B felonies). A former local resident was arrested in Alabama following an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the Lowndes County (Ala.) Sheriff’s Office. Allen E. Lyons man admits selling crack in Waterloo

A Lyons man who admitted dealing drugs in Seneca County will head to prison later this year. Patrick Snider, 42, pleaded guilty last week in county court to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony.
