First responders in Cayuga County were called to a one-car accident with entrapment a little after 8 p.m. Weedsport Ambulance and Rescue, as well as Jordan Ambulance were dispatched to 2472 Hamilton Road for the accident. Weedsport and Port Bryon fire departments were called to the scene of a tractor-trailer fire near mile marker 298 overnight. The incident happened in the eastbound lane and was put out within around 30 minutes, according to first responders. It doesn’t appear there were any injuries stemming from the incident. The Weedsport Central School District is set to get state funding for its prekindergarten services, Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office announced Wednesday. Weedsport, which will receive $126,432, is one of 16 school districts approved for funding, according to a press release.
