Five of the BEST events happening in the FLX this weekend

Looking for something to do this weekend with family or friends?

The Finger Lakes is loaded with events on Saturday and Sunday, which will give everyone an opportunity to get out and enjoy the springtime festivities that come with living in the region.

Whether you’re interested in wine, crafts, arts – or are looking for a parade – the Finger Lakes has it all covered this weekend.

Here are our top picks for the best weekend activities in the Finger Lakes:

The Quill Hill Festival at Tyburn Academy

Location: 17 Clymber St., Auburn, New York
Date/Time: Saturday, June 3rd from 10 am – 8 pm

This event will feature live music all day with local bands. Food, games, a cake wheel, booze wheel, raffles, Polish foods, beer and wine, as well as a chicken barbacue will all be featured at this local gem. The festivities will be taking place on Tyburn Academy school grounds at 17 Clymer St.

Woofstock 2017: Local Rescue & Shelter Benefit

Location: 4367 E. Covert Rd., Interlaken, New York
Date/Time: Saturday, June 3rd from 12 pm – 7 pm

This event is great for the whole family — and even for the family dog. It’s the 5th anniversary of Woofstock, Americana Vineyards Winery’s annual fundraiser for local animal rescues and shelters. It’ll feature live music all day beginning at noon, include kids games, raffles, food, wine, pet and people vendors, a Doggie Diva Fashion Show, as well as a new agility course.

Rose Soiree on Linden

Location: Linden St., Geneva, New York
Date/Time: Saturday, June 3rd from 5 pm – 9 pm

Fueled with inspiration from the traditional French Diner en Blanc (Dinner in White), a committee of Finger Lakes wine industry representatives wanted to create an event early this summer highlighting Finger Lakes Dry Rosé while creating a classic soirée style celebration to be held outside, on Linden St. in Geneva. There will be music, food, and wine, which will provide the perfect evening event for those 21 and older looking for something to do on Saturday. Tickets must be purchased beforehand, and are available online here.

Flea Market in Rose

Location: 10734 School St., Rose, New York
Date/Time: Sunday, June 4th from 9 am – 2 pm

The 2017 Rose Flea Market will feature a car show and chicken barbaque for those looking to get outdoors on Sunday. While the weather might be a challenge, the event will be taking place at the Rose Union Community Building –= just four miles south of Route 104, or five miles north of Clyde. Organizers say this will be a great event for the entire family to enjoy.

Ithaca Festival of the Arts

Location: Ithaca, New York
Date/Time: All Weekend

The 40th installment of the Ithaca Festival is carrying a theme described as “Celebrating Like It’s Our First!” Organizers say they’ve been committed to putting together a weekend that everyone can enjoy by offering multiple musical stages throughout downtown with acts such as The Big Mean I-Town Revue, Sim Redmond Band, ‎Gun Poets, The Blind Spots, Empire Kings and many more. Other features include charity basketball game and poetry workshop at GIAC, theater, comedy, and a book reading at Cinemapolis, horse and carriage rides along Court St., craft and food vendors on the Commons and Cayuga St., as well as tons of other entertainment. The event is cost-free and great for the entire family, and commemorative buttons will be sold for $5 a piece to help with costs associated with the festival.
