A former Rochester City School District administrator is on track to be the next superintendent of Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES.
The BOCES board said it has selected Vicky Ramos as the new district superintendent, pending successful contract negotiations.
The formal appointment is expected to come at the BOCES board’s meeting on Jan. 7. Ramos would begin her new job in April.
Board President O.J. Sahler expressed thanks to all who participated in the search.
“My fellow board members and I appreciate how demanding the task of identifying our next district superintendent could have been without the assistance of so many individuals, and [we] especially thank the community and our interview committees for their input throughout this rigorous search process,” she stated.
Ramos, currently superintendent of the Greater Amsterdam School District, about 30 miles northwest of Albany, was one of two finalists announced by BOCES in late November. The other was Catherine “Catie” Huber, superintendent of schools for the Alexander Central School District in Genesee County.
