Will Lyons make the ‘Bizarre Foods’ cut?

Will we see Travel Channel star Andrew Zimmern munching on a Zweigle’s white hot at the Caboose in Lyons. Or, will he be enjoying some Cornell chicken?

There is no guarantee either local “star” made the cut.

“No one knows anything,” said Bob Stopper, a canal history enthusiast who is no doubt one of the waterway’s biggest ambassadors in the historic canal town, whose growth was directly attributable to Clinton’s Ditch.

The “Bizarre Foods” show was produced to celebrate the canal’s 200th anniversary.

“They got what they wanted, and like a thief in the night, they were out of here,” he laughed.

“The Mighty Erie Canal,” part of the “Bizarre Foods” series hosted by Zimmern, makes its debut today at 9 p.m. on the Travel Channel.
