Late flurry lifts Canandaigua girls over Webster Thomas for Class B lacrosse crown

The girls lacrosse teams from Canandaigua and Webster Thomas went back and forth in the first half. The score was tied at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and it stayed that way for the first 13½ minutes of the second half.

Tuesday’s Section V Class B championship looked destined to be a tight one, but the second-seeded Braves erupted for five unanswered goals in the final 11 minutes, 33 seconds and won going away, 11-6, over the fourth-seeded Titans at Pittsford Sutherland High.
