U.S. Republican Congressman Chris Collins is now calling for the plan some are blaming for a rising Lake Ontario to be dismantled.
Collins visited homeowners, businesses and Hamlin leaders on Sandy Harbor Drive on Tuesday, discussing Plan 2014, a plan that regulates how much water is released from the lake.
“The disaster is upon us,” he said. “There’s no easy solution here. I feel very bad for the town and for the homeowners who this is their life.”
Collins also wants to overhaul the group that’s behind the plan by replacing the three American representatives of the International Joint Commission, or IJC, but claims he needs bi-partisan support.
