This year’s Harriet Tubman Pilgrimage Celebration, the 43rd annual, will be the first since the ground on which it takes place was formally established as a national historical park in January.
The pilgrimage begins with a rededication of the Thompson AME Zion Church at 7 p.m. Friday, May 26, at the Parker Street church. One of three properties comprising the park along with Tubman’s residence in Fleming and her Home for the Aged in Auburn, the church will be rededicated as the Harriet Tubman AME Zion Church at the ceremony.
