Students arrested after fight at Wayne Central HS

Two students from Wayne Central High School were arrested after an investigation into a fight earlier in the month.

According to Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies, they were called to the high school on May 12th for a fight in progress. Deputies said 16-year-old Jacob Battle and 17-year-old Gordon Wang got into a verbal argument in class that turned into a physical fight.

Due to the fight, the school was put into a “hold in place” situation to keep all students in classrooms until the incident was resolved.

Both Battle and Wang were injured, treated for their injuries at school, then were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
