Lyons woman assaults police officer during arrest after domestic dispute

A Lyons woman was arrested after a domestic dispute, according to deputies in Wayne County.

Deputies arrested Kimberly L. Goebert, 36, of Lyons following a domestic dispute. Goebert started to yell and swear in public while damaging property.

After Goebert was taken into custody — deputies say she tried to break out the rear window of the patrol car. She is also accused of kicking a deputy causing a minor injury to his face, as well as lacerations to his hand and leg.

She also spit in an arresting deputy’s face during the ordeal.

Goebert was transported to Newark Wayne Community Hospital via ambulance.

She was charged with second-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief, obstructing government action, endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest, second-degree harassment, and disorderly conduct.

She was arraigned in the Town of Lyons Court where she was remanded to the Wayne County Jail. Goebert is to appear in the Town of Lyons Court at a later date to answer the charges.
