No cause of death has been released following an autopsy on a Lyons man who was killed last month in Newark. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Newark woman following a welfare fraud investigation. Deputies say Tonia J. Williams, 42, of Newark was arrested after an investigation was initiated by the Wayne County Department of Social Services. 27-year-old was beaten to death, Newark PD seek suspect

Police in Newark say that 27-year-old Frederick “Buddy” Thomas has died from injuries sustained during “some kind” of fight, which happened Friday night. When police arrived, they found Thomas unresponsive. He was taken to Newark Wayne Community Hospital, then taken by air to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he remained in a coma until Tuesday morning.
