Before the temperatures plummeted and the first snow set in on the trees Saturday, it felt more like early season football weather than basketball. ‘Heartbroken’ Dryden mourns loss of 11-year-old student in pedestrian accident

State Police said on Monday afternoon that they didn’t expect any charges against the driver who was operating the pickup truck that struck two Dryden Central School District students. A 12-hour standoff in Dryden, which began Thursday afternoon and lasted into the early morning hours Friday, ended peacefully with a man being taken into custody.
