On February 11th at about 1:21 am, New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Patrick R. Smuda, 59, of Ithaca was charge with felony of second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
This arrest occurred after troopers responded to a Tompkins County 911 report of an assault at a home on Delong Avenue in the Town of Dryden. An investigation determined that during a verbal dispute Smuda had struck another man in the back of the head with a household item causing an injury.
The victim was treated at a local hospital for a laceration.
Smuda was arraigned in the Town of Caroline Court and was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 property bond.
