Eleven people were arrested during a welfare fraud crackdown conducted by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office. In their monthly “snapshot” for August, Sheriff Tim Luce and Undersheriff John Cleere said the sting start at the end of July and continued throughout August. On Friday, at about 2:18 pm, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested two subjects following a traffic stop on Route 96A in the Town of Fayette. As a result of the traffic stop, Sheriff’s Investigators seized 158 individually packaged baggies of heroin, five individual packaged baggies containing 14.1 grams of cocaine, and nine oxymorphone pills.
