A Romulus teen-ager remains hospitalized after a horse kicked him in the face Monday afternoon. Seneca County Sheriff’s deputies say 16-year old Henry Stoltzfus was hurt around 2:30 along McCulloch Road. South Seneca ambulance personnel treated Stoltzfuz at the scene. He was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse by MercyFlight and is listed in fair condition this morning.   more

A major water line break has caused faucets to slow to a trickle in the village of Seneca Falls. Reports of low water pressure started around 8pm. Citing budget cuts, the Newark School Board has withdrawn from the Four County School Boards Association. The membership will expire at the end of June. School Board member Nicholas Santino says the Four County Association didn’t provide enough benefits for the cost. The Geneva teenager that triggered a state-wide Amber Alert last December was sentenced to probation behind closed doors on Thursday morning. 17-year old Patricia Lynn Visco received the sentence from Geneva City Judge Timothy Buckley. Seneca Falls is not yet out of the running for the $80-MILLION dollar corn-to-ethanol plant. The plant will be one of the topics discussed when the Seneca Falls Town Board meets next Tuesday night. A larger voter turnout in the Romulus School District Thursday helped to pass a new budget. The new school spending plan was approved yesterday 364 to 276. A proposal to purchase a new bus was also approved by a vote of 350 to 275. The same spending plan was rejected last month by a one vote margin.   more

Auburn Memorial Hospital is 5-million dollars in the red. The losses were detailed to the hospital’s Board of Directors yesterday. The losses are for the hospital, adjoining nursing home and medical centers in Auburn and Skaneateles.
