Auburn Memorial Hospital $5M in Red

Auburn Memorial Hospital is 5-million dollars in the red. The losses were detailed to the hospital’s Board of Directors yesterday. The losses are for the hospital, adjoining nursing home and medical centers in Auburn and Skaneateles. The 2005 losses follow a 2004 loss of just over $3-million dollars and a loss of almost $80-thousand dollars in 2003. The hospital has hired a Chicago firm to study it’s operations and make future recommendations. There is some relief for the hospital, State Senator Michael Nozzolio has included a $1-million dollar line item in the new state budget for the hospital.
