The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports new charges against an inmate, who was recently convicted on drug charges – and set to be transferred to a state facility.
Kimberly Rogers was convicted of a felony drug related crime on Dec. 13 and was taken into custody during that court proceeding. She was processed through the Wayne County Jail when she was found to be in possession of several prescription pills.
Rogers was searched again, according to deputies. At that time, she was placed in an individual cell within the facility. A short time later, a corrections officer found her in possession of several small bags of suspected fentanyl and chewing tobacco punches.
During another search she successfully stalled 16 of the small zip-log bags. Deputies say she was hospitalized and regurgitated the bags.
As result she was charged with two counts of felony promoting prison contraband, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
She was brought before Lyons Town Court and will appear at a later date to answer those charges.
