A fatal house fire in South Bristol remains under investigation — after a difficult fight for fire, EMS, and law enforcement — who all responded to 5828 County Road 33.
Jeff Harloff, who serves as fire coordinator for Ontario County said they received a number of phone calls between 8:30 and 9 p.m. describing a fire, multiple explosions heard by neighbors, and then a fully-involved house fire.
It took fire personnel from Richmond, Bloomfield, Bristol, and Naples approximately 45 minutes to bring the fire under control, which was contained to a single-story dwelling.
Just spoke to a woman off camera who says her sisters were inside the home at the time of the fire. She says one sister was in her 60s and the other was in her 70s with a birthday next week. She says the older sister was bedridden and had oxygen tanks in the home. @news10nbc pic.twitter.com/ALH8fPdHw1

While fire personnel battled intense flames, it was reported that there could have still been two people inside the home. Harloff confirmed hours later that the Monroe County Medical Examiners Office was on-scene after two bodies had been recovered. Harloff noted that the coroner will work with the Medical Examiner to attempt to positively identify the remains found inside.
The two inside the home were identified Friday afternoon as Pamella M. Osinski, 68, and Vicky D. Todd, 74.. The cause of their deaths remains under investigation, according to deputies.
The residence was a total loss, according to deputies. Investigation into the fire and it origin is being executed by Coordinator Harloff and the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
County Road 33 was closed to traffic for several hours as crews battled flames at the scene.
