New details have emerged about an incident at the intersection of South Main and Niagara streets in the City of Canandaigua – after an unidentified woman was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Police say that woman was a pedestrian, and struck by a northbound passenger vehicle on Main Street. Investigation shows that the vehicle was traveling north on South Main Street when they struck a female pedestrian who was crossing South Main Street from the east.
Police say the pedestrian attempted to cross the intersection at a time when northbound traffic had a green light; and that she was also outside the crosswalk.
The investigation remains active.
Canandaigua Fire Department and Canandaigua EMS assisted at the scene.
