Former Syracuse star Michael Carter-Williams has reached an agreement to sign with the Houston Rockets, according to various media reports.
Carter-Williams’ career trajectory has gone downhill since winning Rookie of the Year with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2013-14, culminating in career-worst numbers last year with Charlotte. In Houston, though, he found a nice NBA landing spot with one of the league’s top teams and best offensive coaches.
ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski reported the agreement will be for one year and the NBA minimum. Carter-Williams will be entering his sixth NBA season, making the deal worth $1.9 million. Teams cannot officially sign players until July 6.
