Sheriff: Lyons man protected party in-person and on social media

A 46-year-old Lyons man was arrested on criminal contempt charges after an investigation was launched by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective Services.

Steven K. Boyer, 46, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, and second-degree criminal contempt after it was reported to Child Protective caseworkers and Wayne County Probation that he was violating a Family Court Order to have no contact with the alleged victim.

Boyer is accused of contacting the protected party in-person and via social media. That was a direction violation of the order, which resulted in the aforementioned charges.

He was arraigned in Lyons Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
