Canandaigua duo hospitalized after crash on County Road 4; neither were wearing seatbelts

Two Canandaigua residents are recovering after a crash on County Road 4 during the late-afternoon hours.

It all unfolded around 4:43 p.m. when first responders were called to the area of County Road 4 and Seneca Castle for the report of a personal injury accident.

Deputies say that two male occupants of the vehicle were found to be injured when they arrived. The operator, Joseph Tiffany, 44, and the passenger, Neal Tiffany, 67, both of Canandaigua were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.



Deputies report that Joseph was transported to F.F. Thompson Hospital while Neal was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Finger Lakes Ambulance responded to the scene and transported the victims of the accident to those hospitals.

Deputies also say that the investigation determined that neither were wearing seatbelts, and that the operator lost control of the vehicle and traveled of the roadway into a ditch.

Joseph Tiffany was issued a citation for the duo failing to wear a seatbelt.
