No rest for Kevin Korzeniewski and the Mynderse Academy Blue Devils boys varsity basketball team. Thursday night they defeated Clyde-Savannah 73-72. Friday night they were on the bus heading east on the Thruway to face Syracuse Academy of Science as part of a showcase at Onondaga Community College.
Mynderse would head back home winners and remain undefeated after a 52-49 win. Kellen Caraher led Mynderse with 15 points. Quentin Battle scored 11 points and was tasked with handling SAS’s top scorer Nick Williams on the defensive end. Jake Robinson contributed 8 points in the win. Caraher was awarded game MVP in a ceremony following the game. Mynderse is now 8-0. They will next host C.G. Finney, who defeated Clyde-Savannah last week, and then on Friday night it will be the Wayne Eagles visiting Seneca Falls in a huge Finger Lakes East match-up.
Mynderse Academy Boys’ Basketball is now No. 1 in @DandC Small schools Poll. Proud of effort, teamwork, achievement, and coaching @Kevkorz3 #sfcsdproud SMALL-SCHOOLS COACHES POLL

FRIDAY NIGHT W-FL GIRLS RESULTS:
GENEVA 42 vs CHURCHVILLE-CHILI 41
It has been a great week for the Geneva Lady Panthers who won their second straight game in as many nights on Friday. Churchville-Chili hit a 3-pointer with 24 seconds left to take the lead 41-40. Then, Geneva’s McKenzie Moore found Lauren DeVaney off a set play and she was fouled on her shot attempt. She went to the line and sank both free throws with 12 seconds left giving Geneva a 42-41 lead. DeVaney went 5-6 from the free throw line in the 4th quarter and finished 11-15 from the foul line. The Lady Panthers played very good defense in the final 12 seconds not allowing Churchville-Chili to get a shot off. Geneva was able to get the ball back and dribble out the clock.
Lauren DeVaney finished with 15 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. Treasure Bruce had 7 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. McKenzie Moore added 5 points, 3 steals and 4 assists.
