Elmira man charged in domestic incident in Tyre

On November 4th at approximately 10 am, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Town of Tyre for the report of a domestic incident.

A male, later identified as Jason Welch, 39, of Elmira was found to the be walking away from where the domestic took place.

The Seneca Falls Police Department was made aware and detained Welch roadside while Sheriff Deputies were following up at the crime scene.

Welch was brought to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office where he was taken into custody on charges stemming from the domestic including first-degree harassment.

Welch was arraigned in the Town of Waterloo Court and committed to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center on $500 Cash Bail $1,000 Bond.
