Since forming in 2008, the Child Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes has provided services to more than 1,800 children and families — many of them dealing with abuse issues.
With the opening of a satellite office in Waterloo, Seneca County officials believe the agency will have a greater impact in the county and be more of a resource for those people.
“I grew up in Waterloo, so ever since I started working for the CAC this has been on my radar,” said Ashley Davoli, a forensic interviewer and Seneca County site coordinator. “I think this site will be a huge asset to the community.”
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house was held at the West Main Street site last week. It included CAC staff, county officials, law enforcement members and the public.
