Deputies in Seneca County responded to the intersection of State Route 414 and Rhodes Rd. in Lodi for a mulit-vehicle accident with injuries on September 24th, according to Sheriff Tim Luce.
Adam D. Smith, 29, of Pennsylvania was traveling in a 2005 Harley Davidson Motorcycle traveling north on Rt. 414 when he struck the rear of a Dodge van truck, being operated by Joseph N. Seguin, 25, of Keuka Park.
Deputies say the second vehicle was stopped in traffic waiting to make a left turn onto Rhodes Rd., and the force of the collision resulted in Smith being ejected from the bike.
He was checked over at the scene and airlifted to Upstate Medical Center.
At the time of the accident, a large motorcycle run was moving through the area and two bikes that were traveling within it — hit the Harley Davidson, which had crossed over into the other lane.
The first motorcycle was operated by Christian Fulkerson, 40, of Weedsport. Both Fulkerson and his passenger were ejected from the bike. Lisa Fulkerson, the passenger, was airlifted by LifeNet to Upstate University Hospital.
The second motorcycle to strike the Harley Davidson was operated by Mark Fulkerson, of Ovid, who was not injured. He was ejected from the motorcycle, though, according to deputies.
Smith was ticketed for following too closely.
