Deputies in Wayne County arrested a Rose man following an investigation launched by Wayne County Child Protective Services.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Wayne County Child Protective Services regarding a residence they had recently visited. CPS workers became concerned when a male subject at the residence made multiple remarks to them about possessing firearms.
An investigation was then conducted by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and discovered that the male subject was a convicted felon.
A search warrant for the property was obtained and executed by investigators.
Shane E. Smolinski, 39, of Rose was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon after it was determined that he had a 12 gauge Mosberg shotgun, which he was not legally allowed to own.
He was arraigned in Lyons Town Court and released. The charges will be answered at a later date in Rose Town Court.
