Car enthusiasts celebrate Father’s Day at annual Emerson Park car show

For many automobile aficionados, fixing up classic cars is something they have been doing for most of their lives. Some, like Perry Lyon, started working on cars with their fathers and now pass the hobby on to their children.

Lyon brought his son and two green Ford pickup trucks, one from 1946 and one from 1947, to the 26th annual Prison City Ramblers Father’s Day car show Sunday at Emerson Park on Owasco Lake.

Lyon said he and his father began working on the ’47 pickup truck when he was 12 or 13 years old and now he has passed the truck down to his own son.
