Auburn man pleads guilty to raping Cayuga County teen

An Auburn man has admitted having sex with an underage girl in Cayuga County.

Charles Williams, of Auburn, pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of third-degree rape, a class E felony.

The 23-year-old was originally charged with three counts of third-degree rape and one count of third-degree criminal sex act, both felonies, as well as one count of endangering the welfare of a child. However, Cayuga County District Attorney Jon Budelmann allowed Williams to plead guilty to one felony in full satisfaction of the indictment.

In court Tuesday, Williams told Judge Mark Fandrich that he had sex with a 16-year-old girl in Auburn in October 2016.
