Registered sex offender exposes himself at store to two children in Ontario Co.

A 47-year-old Canandaigua man is facing two charges after an incident of public lewdness at a store in Victor.

Deputies say that on January 22nd they received a complaint from a parent stating that an unknown male had just exposed himself to two 11-year-old children while inside the Michael’s Arts and Crafts store in Victor.

Upon deputies arriving on the scene, the unidentified male had left the scene. An investigation revealed that Paul Goodrell, 47, of Canandaigua — who is a Level 3 sex offender — was identified as a suspect.

Goodrell was taken into custody by New York State Parole on January 24th on parole violations and was subsequently committed to the Ontario County Jail.

Further investigation positively identified Goodrell as the male responsible for this incident. As result, he was charged on January 31st with endangering the welfare of a child and public lewdness.

He was arraigned in Victor Town Court and committed back to the Ontario County Jail on $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 secured bond.
