Have you gotten your tickets yet? It is getting right down to the wire… The Annual Beverly Animal Shelter Dinner/Dance (Music by Brass Inc.) is Saturday February 11, 2017 at the Club 86 in Geneva. The Silent Auctions and Raffles will be there too! Here are three, petite, BAS felines who are hoping they get to see you very soon!
VENUS
Extremely lovable Venus may appear to be solid black with the most enchanting golden yellow eyes, however, if you meet her in person, you may just see three individual white hairs at her neckline. Just about 1 year old, Venus was surrendered in December when her owner could no longer care for her. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, micro-chipped and tested negative for both FIV and FeLeuk. If you are looking for someone you can hold and cuddle, Venus is the girl for you.
CRAPS
Caught up in the stray removal from DelLago in late November, young Master Craps was not a winner when it came to getting names. Only about 5 months old when he arrived, Craps does not mind his name. He is cute as a button. Craps’ medium length white fur is dappled with shades of dark gray. He was very shy at first, but now Craps loves to be held. He is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, micro-chipped and tested negative for both FIV and FeLeuk.
TEDDI
Beautiful, petite (but chubby), dark Tabby, Teddi has unique swirls in her fur. She found herself at BAS in April 2016 when her owner passed away. Teddi was only familiar with one human, her owner, for the first 3 years of her life. Strange people frightened her. Slowly, she has come around. Now, Teddi likes humans and being petted, but she still has qualms about being picked up. A calm loving home is just what she needs. Teddi is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, micro-chipped and tested negative for both FIV and Fe-Leuk.

The Beverly Animal Shelter is currently offering potential “barn” cats – neutered/spayed and vaccinated, friendly, outdoor cats who are good mousers, for $10. Please contact the Shelter for more information.
The new Integrated Veterinary Service has begun at the Beverly Animal Shelter. Although held only once or twice a month, the long wait for spay or neutering has been greatly reduced! Call the Shelter to make your appointment. They are now taking reservations.

Unfortunately, The Purina Pets for Seniors Fund has been DISCONTINUED. However, BAS is attempting to continue Senior adoptions on an individual basis through the generosity of others.

Why not take the opportunity to spend some playtime with your favorite canine. The Dave Pullen Memorial Dog Park at the Beverly Animal Shelter is open Monday-Saturday, 10am-4pm. It is located on the front center grounds at the Shelter and has a double-gated entrance. It is free to the public (though the Shelter always appreciates any donations!), but we do require you to stop by the shelter staff (at the store) to show proof of rabies and distemper vaccinations. We want everyone, including your dog safe! We also ask that you please clean up after your dog. Come on out and give your pup a chance to run off lead in a safe and enclosed environment!

Please keep in mind when you enter the Shelter grounds, to adhere to the 5mph speed limit. A very sweet but deaf cat that had lived at the shelter for 17 years was killed because someone sped through the drive.
Dallyn, along with the ASPCA, would like to remind all cat owners of the importance (after spay and neutering) of cat collars (safety or breakaway) with proper identification for outdoor cats. The Shelter is overwhelmed by “found” but unclaimed cats. The hope of the Shelter is to be able to reunite the lost felines with their owners. Many types of collars are available for cats. Please, if you have lost your dog or cat, DO CALL the shelter. Do not wait for an advertisement of “found dog/cat” to appear in the newspaper.
Please be a responsible pet owner. Spay and neuter your pets to prevent more unwanted animals. ONLY YOU can prevent the overflow of kittens that begins each Spring and carries on into the Fall.
