A big lesson presented itself to Tamela Ray when she was six inches off from what would have been the winning goal in a field hockey game at Union Springs High School. “I still feel terrible about it — the fact that I missed it,” Ray said. A talk with her coach taught her that losing is OK, provided she tried as hard as she could.
