The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that on December 12th an incident took place at the Geneva Walmart, which resulted in an investigation.
Deputies say that Robert Rickerson, 24, of Waterloo was arrested after that investigation revealed that he had returned carpet cleaner that had been removed from the shelf moments before the return took place.
He was was charged on Tuesday with first-degree falsifying business records. Deputies say the carpet cleaner was valued at $181.68.
He was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charge in Geneva Town Court at a later date.
