Community Bank N.A. gives back during holiday season through local charities

Community Bank N.A. has been working overtime this holiday season to make the season a little brighter for those in need locally.

The bank announced on Wednesday that they participated in red kettle bell ringing with the Salvation Army, as well as a variety of donations to local chapters and community organizations.

“Lending extra support to those who need it most in our community is extremely important to Community Bank N.A.,” said David Sloan, Community Bank N.A. regional manager. “We are more than a bank, we are members of the community, and going the extra mile for our neighbors is a fundamental part of our values.”

The Canandaigua branch participated the the Salvation Army red kettle bell ringing. The branch is also a donation location for Toys for Tots. The gifts collected will be distributed to local families in need.

The Palmyra branch had a Salvation Army Angel Tree displayed in its lobby. Customers take names from the tree and buy gifts for children and senior citizens in need. Additionally, employees made donations for the option to wear jeans to work. The funds were used to donate toys to 10 children this year.

The Waterloo branch donated backpacks to its local Backpack Program, which provides needy children with snacks and healthy food to take home over the weekend. Employees also adopted a family from the Seneca County Community Christmas Project and purchased gifts for their holiday.

The Penn Yan branch collected funds for the Yates Christmas Program and sponsored the annual StarShine community holiday event. Additionally, employees can make a donation to Pet Partners Connection for the option of wearing jeans to work.
