Wolcott woman dies in State Rt. 104 crash in Sodus

State Police say a 58-year-old Wolcott woman died in a crash on Route 104 on Friday.

The accident happened around 5:54 pm when a 2000 Ford Taurus, which was being operated by Leo Derosia, 59, of Wolcott was traveling east on Route 104 when it slid into a vehicle being operated by Jeremy A. Klein, 37, of Williamson.

When Derosia lost control of his vehicle on the snow covered roadway he spun into the westbound lane, where it was struck by the GMC Terrain operated by Klein.

After impact, State Police say that the Taurus caught on fire. Derosia was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of burns and lacerations.

Derosia’s passenger, who was identified as Mareka Feely-Derosia was pronounced dead at the scene. Feely-Derosia was Leo Derosia’s wife. She was pronounced dead by Wayne County Coroner Dr. David Hannan.

State Police were assisted at the scene by Wallington, Sodus Center and Alton Fire Departments, Sodus Town Ambulance and Wayne County ALS.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, according to State Police.
