I happen to come upon this American Bittern at Sodus Bay during the holiday weekend. It is a solitary bird, and although common in much of its range, usually keeps itself well-hidden and is difficult to observe. Newark resident David Muphy overcame the impossible by recently completing the 5k Laurel Race. Murphy who survived a severe motorcycle accident has gone through several years of treatment for a broken back and several other leg injuries. Wayne County: Two empty barges, each 220 feet in length, are pushed by Tugboat CMT Otter into Lock 27 in Lyons earlier today. Tony the Pirate, Dennis the Menace, and Runaway Ron are seen earlier today aboard RICOCHET in Lyons Lock 27 as they make their thirteenth (13) round trip from Marathon, Florida to Detroit, Michigan.
