Early this morning, the 83′ replica schooner Lois McClure from the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum in Vermont passed the 61′ Farallone, a Luders U.S. Army Quartermaster Boat docked at the Lyons dock on the Erie Canal. The 48 passenger Real Tour Cruise tour boat is docked in Lyons early Sunday morning. The Lyons Rotary and Lyons Erie Canalway Greeters sponsored 2 local cruises on Saturday and a long 6 hour cruise from Lyons to Seneca Lake on Sunday. All cruises were sold out. Photo by Robert Stopper. more

The replica 1862 schooner Lois McClure from the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum approaches Lyons Sunday morning. The authentic replica, 88 feet in length, has no means of propulsion other than sail, so a 1964 tugboat, the C.L.Churchill, serves as power.
