The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce will partner with the Town of Geneva to host the November Business After Hours Networking Mixer on Wednesday, November 14th at the Geneva Town Hall at 3750 County Road 6. The event will take place from 5PM until 7PM.
Taking a slightly different approach from traditional mixers, the Town of Geneva’s Business After Hours will showcase several businesses located in the town.
There will be beer from Gael Brewing Company, wine from Billsboro Winery, additional tastings from Headley’s Liquor Barn and light appetizers from Club 86. Bank of the Finger Lakes will be on hand, as will Finger Lakes Radio group, both with plenty of swag. There will also be a local honey producer, and two of the town volunteer fire departments will be present.
“We value our relationship with our local Chamber of Commerce and are pleased to offer a Business After Hours reception,” said Geneva Town Supervisor Mark Venuti. “People can network at the town hall, see some of our programs, and enjoy food, beer, wine and juice from town establishments. If the weather permits, we’ll show off our community garden and bike park in the making behind the town hall.”
The purpose and goal of Business After Hours events is to help increase awareness of Chamber Members by offering guests the opportunity to visit and experience the properties and to see or sample the products or services of each, reinforcing the Chamber’s buy local, shop local and support local efforts. The opportunity to host Business After Hours is an exclusive benefit of Chamber membership.
“We are so excited to be hosting the Chamber’s Business After Hours at the Town Hall and look forward to showcasing the various businesses, and town departments and committees that keep the town thriving,” said Kim Aliperti, an event organizer, co-owner of Billsboro Winery and a member of the Geneva Town Board and Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
The town’s Sustainability Committee will be showing off the projects underway and the Economic Development Committee will also have some displays of some new proposed town projects, Aliperti added.
“This is a great example of the Chamber partnering with the town be help promote, and support, the area and its growing economic development base,” said Miranda Odell, GACoC executive director.
While the town has retained its agricultural roots, it has grown with commercial and tourist development. The town’s priorities focus on maintaining fiscal prudence, retaining the character of the community, remaining in a leadership position within the region and striking an agreeable balance between economic development and the quality of life for its residents.
