Inmate’s eardrum ruptured during violent incident at Wayne County Jail

Deputies say a 25-year-old inmate at the Wayne County Jail is facing new charges after a physical incident on October 10th.

Zachary R. Bergen, 25, was charged with second-degree assault after a physical altercation, in which he struck another inmate violently enough to rupture his eardrum.

He was arrested and arraigned in Lyons Town Court. He was committed back to the Wayne County Jail on no bail.

These new charges will be answered in Lyons Town Court, according to deputies.
