Newark hires new deputy clerk, treasurer

The Village of Newark is pleased to announce the hiring of the new Deputy Clerk/Treasurer, Carolyn Pitti. She comes to the Village with a lengthy resume and successful career, including 19 years at Thermo Scientific in Rochester, New York, where she implemented the Finance reporting system. Carolyn also has experience in accounting and auditing, as well as Customer Service, and had significant interaction with the Payroll and Human Resources departments.

Carolyn, and her husband Joseph, currently reside in Sodus Point year round. She is excited about this new phase of her career, and has had an opportunity to meet most of the Village Office staff. Her first day of employment is October 8th.

Clerk/Treasurer Steve Murawski commented, “We are not looking to replace Ellie Palermo, but we feel that Carolyn has many skills that we believe will help her to effectively communicate with and assist the many Village stakeholders, and lead to her having a successful career at the Village of Newark as she integrates herself with the current Office Staff”.

“We look forward to having Carolyn join the Village of Newark team. Her skill set and professionalism will be an asset to our community, ” stated Mayor Jonathan Taylor.
