The City of Auburn has launched a new campaign. City officials say the “Wipes Clog Pipes” campaign will teach residents that clogged sewer lines are usually preventable.
The city says several items that get flushed down the toilet, including baby wipes, paper towels, tissues, feminine hygiene products, and plastic and latex items, should instead of thrown into the garbage.
City officials are encouraging residents to find out more on how to protect their pipes by going to www.responsibleflushingalliance.com.
And if you’re having problems with your sewer lines, call Auburn’s Municipal Utilities department at (315) 253-6511.
