First Responder Charity Softball Tournament

Police Officers, Firefighters, and Bangs Ambulance personnel are going to bat for charity again in
Ithaca’s Fourth Annual First Responder Charity Softball Tournament. Each year all of the proceeds
from the game will benefit a different charity, and this year’s charity is St. Jude Children’s Research
Hospital. St. Jude was chosen this year in honor of Colin Hayward Toland, Ithaca Police Honorary
Lieutenant, who was taken care of so well by everyone at St. Jude. Colin was able to attend the
tournament in the past, and this year we play for him.

There will be two games played at Ithaca College’s Kostrinsky Field on August 19th, 2018, beginning at
1:30PM, gates open at 1PM. Ithaca Fire will be playing Bangs Ambulance, and the winner of that game
goes on to immediately play last year’s champions, the Ithaca Police. Tickets are $5, and will be sold at
the gate and are good for admission to both games.

Each ticket purchased will also automatically be entered into game-long raffles for door prizes. Items to
be raffled off to ticket-holders include gift certificates to local businesses and restaurants, gift baskets
from local businesses, Free Hotel stays, and much more!

The game is completely organized by local Ithaca Police, Fire and EMS personnel, and sponsored by
businesses and members of the Ithaca Community. Come out and see your local first responders do
their best to beat each other on the field. Fans are encouraged to wear colors to show support for your
favorite team!
