Police say a Branchport man was taken into custody on August 3rd at about 7:55 pm following an investigation into an incident that took place in July.
Christopher D. Shay, 34, of Branchport was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief, Assault, Unlawful Imprisonment, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
It is alleged that on July 25th, Shay held a female down against her will, struck her in the eye and obstructed her breathing by grabbing her around the neck.
The incident is alleged to have taken place in front of a child.
Shay was held at the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment.
