Grants available for downtown property owners in Lyons

Lyons National Bank and the Lyons Main Street Program are teaming up on a grant program for commercial property owners in the Lyons Main Street designated district that generally covers downtown.

The grants are designed to assist in facade renovations or structural repairs, said Main Street Program Director Joan Delaro.

“We are pleased that the Lyons National Bank has offered us the opportunity to provide the commercial property owners some assistance upgrading the appearance of their properties,” she said. “A well-maintained and attractive entrance to a business presents a welcome feeling to customers.”

The amounts of the grants are $500 to $1,000, with a 50 percent match required by property owners, she said.

The uses include, but are not exclusively limited to, structural repairs, window replacement or repairs, façade painting and signage.
