Attorney talks bail, bench warrants, and court orders after Waterloo double-murder

In the days following the July 10 shooting deaths of Lori McConnell and Chuck Andrus, the media has questioned police and prosecutors — repeatedly — on the issues of bail, bench warrants and orders of protection related to the previous arrests of Emerson “John” Tohafjian.

Several local attorneys declined to discuss the issues as they applied to the Seneca County cases, so the Times reached out to Gary Muldoon, a highly regarded appellate attorney and a partner in the Rochester law firm of Muldoon, Getz & Reston. In addition, Muldoon is the author of a book, Handling a Criminal Case in New York.
