Syracuse in NBA Summer League: Richardson, McCullough, Lydon shine

Malachi Richardson continued his strong play in the NBA Summer League on Monday.

The former Syracuse guard started for the Toronto Raptors, played 28 minutes and scored 17 points as the Raptors fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder 92-82. Richardson, who has tantalizing 6-foot-6 size at the shooting guard spot, was 5-for-12 overall and 4-of-10 from the 3-point line.

When he wasn’t perched on the perimeter looking for kickouts, Richardson attacked the rim. He was 3-of-4 from the free throw line. He acknowledged in a Sunday conversation with reporters that Toronto wanted to see him rebound the ball more. He grabbed three missed shots on Monday.
