An Ithaca teenager, who was sought in connection with a July 5 shooting in Richford, surrendered Monday to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office.
Devin I. VanBrunt, 18, was charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a firearm, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree assault, and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was sent to the Tioga County jail with bail set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond, to appear in court Thursday.
Sheriff’s deputies said Friday a warrant had been issued for VanBrunt’s arrest following the early morning shooting July 5 on Light Road in Richford.
Two wounded people had left the scene in private vehicles before deputies could arrive.
